WEDNESDAY AT WATCH DOCS!

Psychedelics in Poland and a debate about human rights defenders in Russia will be the final debates of the 19th WATCH DOCS Human Rights in International Film Festival.

"From Shock to Awe" is one of this year’s most popular films at WATCH DOCS and today at 6:00 PM at the U-jazdowski Laboratory you will have the final opportunity to see this documentary on the big screen and follow the story of American army veterans using Ayahuasca to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder. PSYCHEDELICS: THE POLISH PERSPECTIVE debate will follow the screening, with the participation of Agnieszka Sieniawska, president of the Polish Drug Policy Network, Kamil Sipowicz, hobbyist and enthusiast, Maciej Lorenc, author of the book "Will Psychedelics Save the World?" and psychologist Norbert Jamróz. Piotr Pacewicz, editor-in-chief of the Oko.press website will moderate the discussion.

Today also at 6:00 PM at Centrum Zielna we will discuss Russia and its human rights defenders as part of a discussion themed TO THE SUCCESS OF OUR HOPELESS CAUSE! HUMAN RIGHTS IN RUSSIA with the participation of Alexey Makarov (Memorial), Ekaterina Selezniowa (OWD-info), Anna Dobrovolska (Teatr.doc, Memorial), Danuta Przywara (Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights), Zbigniew Gluzy (Karta Center), and the modertator, Marek Radziwon.

Wednesday is also an opportunity to see the documentary by Łukasz Czajka "Of Animals and Men" on the big screen - at Muranów Cinema, 5:45 PM. This extraordinary film presents the dramatic history of the Żabiński family, who may be familiar to some viewers, as the efforts of these caretakers of the Warsaw Zoo to save Jews during World War II has already been shown in the 2017 Hollywood movie "The Zookeeper's Wife."
